Our Final Post...

Okay... so here we are in Kiev and it is mucho hardo to find an internet cafe. We are 3 stories underground in a "mall" with a very hot internet cafe' with 3 very BORED children. So this will be our last post until we get home. Thank you all so much for your love and support and most of all your prayers while we have been on this journey.

For those of you wanting to know flight info, we should be coming home on Friday at 11:55 p.m. on Delta.

The kids are doing great. Anya has gone to bed without crying for the last 3 nights, praise God. Dima is learning so much. They both can count to 5 in english and we are learning english colors. Fun stuff. We went to a market today and yesterday we visited some famous Kiev sites. Got some good photos. The other night the kids ate chicken legs for the first time! it was soo cute! They didn't know what to do or how to eat them! Cute!!! Everything is so new to them. They really are such a joy. There are some orphanage behaviors that will take some time to work on. When you are in an orphanage you can get lost in the crowd and as long as you stay on schedule, there is really not much accountability or expectation of obedience. So we will spend some time teaching them. Kade is learning that he sets the tone for their obedience, too. If we say "let's go" and he doesn't come, then neither will they. So he is learning the joys and responsibilities of being a big brother. This is such an amazing journey for all 5 of us. Being the mom of 3 is definitely different than being the mom of 1. The joy is triple fold!

Tomorrow we go to the US Embassy to get visas. So that is the final piece of paper in our journey (except for our return plane tickets) and Kade is counting the hours until HOME!!!!! We all are, really. It will be so nice to be home, to see familiar faces, to eat familiar food, to speak a familiar language, to be in familiarity. But something that I have not journaled about here is that I do come home a changed person. I think when you are in a foreign country you become very raw. God has revealed to me the areas that I have been "snobby" in. It really makes you realize what it important in life. The things I have complained about, like MY sheets/bed, I realize these people don't have and don't have the hope of having such things. It makes me thankful and a little less "treasures on earth" focused. But I also go home so thankful for America. Thankful that we live in a country where we are free to worship and even though we have our own problems in our country, I am so thankful that I can raise my children in a Godly home, that I can look up and see the moon and stars. That I can breathe fresh air. I come home changed, hopefully for the better.

Thank you again for your love and faithful posts and prayers. Thank you for making home not seem so far away.

God willing, we will see you on Friday!!!! WOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOO
