A really good picture of Kade!
Dima in gym class.
Anya finally opening up :)

Our trip to the orphanage was different today. Kayla did not go because she was not feeling well. She is better today though. Another difference was our translator. Our regular translator went back to Kiev to take care of some things, so we got a substitute that we had met last week, but she is pregnant and for some reason is in the hospital so her sister ended up translating for us today. She did an excellent job and was very helpful. During our visit we found out that Dima didn’t know what day of April his birthday was on so I told him the 21st. I also asked him what he would like to do for his birthday (thinking this would be an easy question), but he said he didn’t know. Eventually he said, “I would like to play with you.” Well as you can imagine this made my heart feel good for me but sad for him realizing that he had never really celebrated his birthday before. He will feel celebrated this year and every year from now on. After talking about Dima’s birthday, Anya asked, “When is my birthday?” She didn’t even know what month. I told her it was June 19th. Rest assured she will not forget her birthday ever again either. Just one more thing we can do to make these kids know they are special and that we and God love them very much. Wow what a day! It was fun and we seemed to be able to communicate quite a bit with Dima and Anya today. And this was so exciting. The funniest thing about our visit today was when somebody farted. Yes somebody farted and I wasn’t sure who, but I assumed it was Kade (knowing his track record). Whoever it was, Anya was the animated one about it. She started waving her hand in front of her face and holding her nose and said something like “shooey”. Apparently it was so bad that she got up and walked away while still holding her nose and making an awful face. It was so funny, that I laughed harder than I have in a while. After all we’ve said about Anya being shy and coming out of her shell, it was quite funny to see her act this way. And furthermore, Anya was the one who perpetrated the “shooey”.
It looks like our court date is actually next Monday. Add 3 days to our stay, but 3 more days is nothing compared to a lifetime with these wonderful kids. So I guess we’ll accept the date. :) We are going shopping for the kids tomorrow and are going to try to figure out sizes. We will let you know as best we can what they are for those of you who have asked us for sizes.

Well I'm running out of time. I will try to get some more pictures up before I go. Love to all!

Scott

p.s. Kayla is not feeling well, please pray for her.

Greetings, Thompsons,
it is difficult to articulate the emotions that are stirred while reading about and looking at your family. Kate Price was telling me about one of her professors reading a poem by Blake and then defining for her class the word sublime. Perhaps that word best describes the "jump out of your pants" joy combined with the peace and awe of knowing all this is from our loving God. To see His blessings "fleshed out" like this is too awesome for words, perhaps the feeling is sublime.

May He continue to cover you safely with His feathers...

Shalom, sherri price

p.s. to Kade, we miss you in Sunday School and can hardly wait to hear of your adventures!

What a joy it is to see 5 smiling faces...the love is so transparent in all of you!! When you count your blessings -- of which there are many!, Romans 10:11 says "Anyone who trusts in Him will never be disappointed". What an answer to your prayers!!! The answers are right at our fingertips, if we just look and listen. God bless each of you ... keep the beautiful pictures coming!
Kade -- you have found quite a partner! Keep them laughing and teach them well. You will be a terrific example for your new brother and sister!

Love and prayers,
Daisy

Kayla - we are definitely praying that you will feel better soon! I can't even imagine how hard it must be to miss out on any of the precious time you are allowed to spend with your new children. But how good it is to know that you will have so much more time with them - for the rest of your life! May God continue to bless all of you with love, joy, peace, and lots of fun! With love and prayers, Ginny

Dear Thompsons,
Nothing like a good fart story to bring a smile to one's face. That is awesome.

We love reading your posts. Sounds like everything is right on track.

Back home, since you left, Kelvin Sampson left OU to become the new basketball coach at Indiana, and today OU hired his replacement, the 31-year-old coach at Virginia Commonwealth. Figured I'd keep you updated on OU news since someone did it for me when we were in China.

Hope Kayla's feeling all better today. Howdy, Kade. Can't wait to greet the new and improved Thompson family. (Good thing you guys already have a minivan, or else getting around might be tough.)

Love,
Tony, Gayle and Abbey

Hi, Kade, how's McDonalds? I wish I could be there to celebrate Dima's birthday with you. I can't wait to meet him, he looks fun. I miss playing with you. I've made some new lego things I'd like to show you. Did you take any legos with you? See you soon! David

Hi, Thompson family!
Kayla, I'll be praying that you'll feel better soon. Thanks so much for the regular updates -- we can't wait to see you and meet your new family members.
It's beginnning to look a lot like spring around here. Pool tags will be available the first part of May! Can you believe it?
James has been on his senior trip to Wasington DC ths week so the house has been relatively quiet, almost dull. What will we do when he goes to college? John has been enjoying his meteorology class and prays for stormy weather(!) David has been taking comprehensive tests at school and preparing for choir and band concerts. I've been working at our store (Cartridge World) quite a bit since it opened. And Stan is preparing for the Easter drama our church is performing this weekend. How are you going to celebrate Easter this year?
Stan talked to Mosen yesterday and found out his sister was killed in an auto accident in Iran. He's pretty shaken up about it. I don't know whether to send flowers, take them some food or what? This is an opportunity to minister to them, so pray that we'll know how best to do that. Stan just listened to him talk for awhile and I think he really appreciated that.
Well, that's the news from the neighborhood. See you soon. Love, Dottie
